Environmental Sustainability Commitments and Endorsements

ASL Aviation Holdings has endorsed both the Toulouse Declaration and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Fly Net-Zero programme.


In February 2022, ASL Aviation Holdings formally endorsed the ‘Toulouse Declaration’ which followed an aviation summit hosted by the French Presidency of the European Union. This declaration was widely endorsed by airline and airport representative associations and further commits the aviation industry to meeting carbon emissions reduction targets by 2030 and to reaching net-zero emissions by 2050.

ASL Airlines Ireland, ASL Airlines Belgium, ASL Airlines France and FlySafair, South Africa are members of IATA. At the 77th IATA Annual General Meeting in Boston, USA, on 4 October 2021, a resolution was passed by IATA member airlines committing them to achieving net-zero carbon emissions from their operations by 2050. This pledge brings air transport in line with the objectives of the Paris agreement to limit global warming to 1.5°C.
